My thirst for the Financial Services industry began in 1997 and remains my passion today. The thought of financial independence just made sense to me. Being able to offer unbiased advice undeniably provides the best result for my clients. As an independent advisor, working with the leading Canadian financial institutions enables me to find custom-tailored solutions for my clients' specific needs.

After taking a commodity trading course and then becoming Level II Life Licensed and Mutual Fund Licensed, these designations formed the foundation in building a thriving practice. Banks Financial was built one client at a time over these past 23 years, face to face, one on one, with integrity, service and accountability.

Simple things such as having a no-pressure conversation over a cup of coffee and sharing strategies and ideas using good old-fashioned common sense: This is how we have built a business serving over 700 families, with tens of millions of dollars under management.

One of the most valued moments in my carrier was being awarded the RRC designation (Registered Retirement Consultant) from the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning. This prestigious designation is for planners focusing on helping people to plan for retirement, designing a strategy so that the retiree does not have to worry about outliving their savings, navigating through their retirement years and final legacy planning.

Our company places a high value on the analytics we utilize; exceptionally comprehensive Financial Planning software to problem-solve key issues such as income planning, investing with a pointed purpose, net income, estate values and estate tax. In conjunction with this, we use third-party independent investment analysis to give unbiased performance data, which provides a full 360-degree insight into existing investments and new recommendations.

A little-known fact about my life is that before my career in financial services, I spent 15 years as a full-time professional drummer! I was fortunate to have played in various recording acts around the globe and it is gratifying to have been involved in playing drums on over 60 CDs! As a studio drummer, it is still my pleasure to record sessions from my home studio. Playing drums continues to be a satisfying pastime, and the greatest way to a balanced life with my “day job” at Banks financial!
